Friday Favourites + Episode 27 of the Chase the Red Grape Podcast

Hi all,

Wow is it Friday already? I never usually say that, the weeks for me normally go at a pretty good rate but it always feels like time for Friday, except today. I feel like I am still on Wednesday over here!

Maybe it’s because we have guests coming… maybe it’s because in just over 2 weeks we are heading back to the UK for a holiday – which equates to plans, packing, lists and many other organisational headaches! Ack who am I kidding, I love that stuff!Friday - chase the red grape

But whatever it is, Friday is here and it’s ready to be rocked! What a better way to start than with some Friday Favourites!

Favourite… Moment – Drinking cappuccinos outside on a warm sunny autumn daycoffee - chase the red grape

On Saturday David and I headed to Guildford (one of the oldest areas in Perth) to have a relaxing walk about town. We sat outside in the courtyard of a beautiful little café called Little Guildford and sipped away on delicious cappuccinos. It was so relaxing.

Favourite…Feeling – Fresh and clean

We have friends coming to visit us from the UK on Tuesday and I couldn’t be more excited! I spent yesterday getting their room all ready and the apartment nice and clean. Always feels so good to have a good clean, especially when guests are coming from the other side of the world!

Favourite…Purchase – New platesplate - chase the red grape

Again, it is so unlike me to buy things we don’t ‘need’. But when I spotted these plates I just fell in love (I’m a sucker for blue and white). They are just perfect for how I like to eat my meals, kind of like a plate/bowl combo. And so pretty too!

Favourite…Food/Drink – Soupalfreds - chase the red grape

When we were in Guildford we headed to Alfred’s Kitchen for lunch – a Perth institution! We tried their famous split pea and ham soup and it was divine. Cooked over a woodfired stove the flavour was like nothing else. I can tell this will be a favourite over the winter!

Updates – 5TTT + Episode 27 of the Chase the Red Grape Podcasthustle - chase the red grape

Favourite moment of training – Feeling the energy

I had a few WOD’s this week where I just felt like I was on fire, and really enjoyed powering through the workout. Although I am not near 100% better yet I do feel like some of the old me is coming back… and it feels so good.

Weekend Plans – Saturday – Food prep, out for lunch, a bit more cleaning and chill. Sunday – Pancakes and newspapers, podcasting and binge watching Kimmy Schmidt!

Have a fab weekend guys!

What would you order right now from a coffee shop?

Are you a soup kinda person?

Does cleaning make you feel good? (I hate the actual cleaning part but love the feeling afterwards!)

I’ve had a couple amazingly wonderful outdoor coffee dates this week. The weather just makes everything 200x better… its amazing. Though, I still stick to my hot beverages. Right now if I were at a coffeeshop I would order a thick creamy cortado.
And I’m definitely a soup person but with the weather warming up – finally – I’m finally not craving it.

I think there is something just so lovely about sitting outside on a crisp day with a big hot coffee!
Now it’s time for me to dig out all those soup recipes I have been saving from the past few months… oooh and chili and stews etc etc!

I am in love with those plates – and get happy every time I use them!
I am really looking forward to showing off Perth to our friends. The only guests we have had so far were my parents and that was well over a year ago – and we didn’t even know Perth that well then. So this will be fab!

You’re going to have a lot of UK love these next few weeks, with the guests and the trip. That’s awesome! Plus a good excuse to clean. I’m like you – I hate doing it but I love the outcome. Especially clean sheets!

I love those plates; I am a blue and white girl too. Have you ever been to the Greek isles? I was in heaven taking pictures of all the buildings.

I haven’t been to Greece actually… one of those places I wish I had visited when I lived in the UK and was only a short flight away!
I do love a place called Delft in Holland though… their signature is their blue and white china – so pretty!
