Week in Review! (16 Nov)

Hi all,

Ever feel like you don’t do enough? Like you aren’t enough? Like your time has drifted away from you with nothing to show for it?

If we are honest, I think we all feel this at least sometimes, if not all of the time.

That is why, every 2nd week, I link up with Meghan @CleanEatsFastFeets for ‘Week in Review’. As the week passes, note down everything you have achieved, both the big and the small, then take a look at your long list. Show it to someone else (in my case, you my readers!) and see what they think.

week in review - chase the red grape

Have you changed your opinion of yourself and your week? I guarantee you will think differently about your week and it’s worth. Let yourself be present in what you have achieved and be proud!

My week in review…

The week in week out bits and bobs…

  • Meal planned and food prepped for the week

  • Did the weekly shop – including going to 4 different stores to find our newspaper! Oi!

  • Cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for the 2 of us for the week

kale - chase the red grape

  • Did the washing and the ironing
  • Wrote 3 blog posts
  • Caught up with all the blogs I follow
  • Did 4 CrossFit training sessions… its getting so hot in there even at 6am!

The other joys!

    • I know it was over a week ago I did this but I think the blog revamp deserves another holler! Love that all my research paid off and really happy with the overall outcome!
    • Did some ‘behind the scenes’ blog work – learning SEO a bit more and using what I learned in every post.
    • Tried a new recipe – Erin @TheAlmondEater and her amazing idea to whip up avocado to use as a sauce with noodles

zoodles - chase the red grape

  •
  • Completed more chapters in my business workbook
  • Pay day – did the banking, budgeting and paying the bills for the month
  • Sorted out our UK banking – the joys of banks in different countries…

  • Celebrated David’s birthday – I really wanted to make it special because a) It was his 30th and b) We are away from all our friends and family so it was going to be an odd one… except it wasn’t – he had a great time!

birthday - chase the red grape

    – I baked chocolate chip bars for him to take into work and share with his colleagues

-I bought a birthday banner and gave him a bag of all of his favourite treats!

-We enjoyed a fantastic meal at Heirloom, especially this dessert

-and I arrange for a surf lesson, which he took on Saturday and loved! (No sharks, yay!)

surfing - chase the red grape

Felt like a pretty good wife even if I say so myself! And may I add to the ‘good wife’ card – there is a chicken currently in the slow cooker, which although is adding to the insane heat in the apartment, means that he will have a delicious meal ready for when he comes home from work!

  • Went clothes shopping and got a few bits for me – I hate spending money so this is a triumph! And we found what we needed to find for David – always good in a new mall where you don’t know where anything is!

  • Had a good talk with David about self worth, personal goals, thoughts etc – always feel so lucky to have a husband that I can communicate fully with.

  • Also discussed new paths and plans for the blog and worked out how I can achieve it.

  • Stuck with my book even though I was unsure where it was going and now I am so glad!

Phew! It was a pretty active week!

Why not give this a go? You will surprise yourself I guarantee it!

Tell me something you achieved this week that makes you smile?

What do you want to do for your next birthday?

Are you a talker or do you like to figure things out yourself?

I say you get the wife of the year award: great food, treats, banners, cookie bars for coworkers and a surfing lesson. Wow, it’s going to be hard to top next year!!

I’m so glad you’re really getting into the blog stuff and enjoying it. It can be an amazing creative outlet and I love being able to reach so many people.

I’m thrilled I’m not the only one getting checkbooks in balance and bills paid, although that god all my banks are in one country.

P.S. I adore the picture of you and all the greens.

Well I had to do something special for his 30th… next year will just be a regular old birthday! Haha!
I actually love doing the banking and knowing everything is in order – a get a little kick out of it.
The kale picture cracks me up! It’s so big it takes up a whole shelf in the fridge, and that’s me cramming it in!

You should definitely try the zoodle dish – and the addition of the egg on top was genius by Erin! Love the idea of adding basil though… I bet it would be good!

Cleaning – that’s my next task and the one I hate the most! Haha! I bow to you for getting all that done!
Awesome that you managed to get some old clothes sold – I always love knowing that other people will be happy getting something new when it was simply gathering dust in my wardrobe!

First off – your into is especially amazing. I think your way with words could convince anyone of anything!
Secondly – your blog absolutely deserves another mention
Thirdly – I love that you include your “day to day” accomplishments. Seriously ,these things deserve recognition.
Fourth – YAY to letting yourself buy clothes. I, too, hate spending money and am the worlds’ worst shopper, but its always good to treat yourself too
And fifth – definitely winning the good wife award. Happy belated to David!

Love your comment – made my morning 🙂
I think the ‘day to day’ stuff is the one that deserves the most recognition – don’t we all wish sometimes that we could hide under the duvet for the whole day – and the fact that we don’t deserves merit!

I love the first picture 😀
Gosh I want you to plan MY next birthday!!! Good for David that there were no sharks but I hope you had the leek with you, just in case 😉
Surfing must be so cool. I have never tried it before. I can paddle board and as a teen I learned how to windsurf but I never tried surfing before. Did you surf, too?
And I raise my hat to the wife of the year!

I did have a leek in my bag… just in case… tried to convince David to arm himself with one in the water but he declined… risky 😉
I didn’t try surfing, I was just sitting on the beach with my book but as soon as I saw him in the water I definitely wish I had tried it out – it did look like fun and in the 35 degree heat the water was soooo inviting!

what a nice birthday you made for him!!! yes, you had quite a week there. i’m a bit exhausted from reading about it. LOL. seriously though, it’s so awesome how much you get done. i like the avocado as sauce idea, i tried once a long time ago and loved it. i need to add it back to our meal ideas. especially since i have some good avo’s now!
wow 4 shops, that’s enough to have me tired right there. i get tired from one shop 🙂

If you have some good avocados ready to rock then you have to whip up this sauce! Although it was lucky the sauce even reached the final dish, I just kept eating it out of the bowl!
I cannot believe I went to 4 stores for a newspaper either – but I just love reading the news on a Sunday morning with my pancakes!

    • Jen says:

Oh you must join the link up! I’m sure you will have a very impressive list too! I always think I haven’t done enough, until I write it all down and then I impress myself! Haha!
