Week in Review!

Hi all,

Hope you all had a spooky weekend full of fun!

Today I am linking up again with Meghan over @CleanEatsFastFeets for a ‘Week in Review’!

Guys I cannot emphasise how much I love this link up – it really does give us all the opportunity to relish in our achievements both big and small from throughout the week. So often we all think we aren’t good enough or do enough – a week goes by wondering what else we could have done if we had just more time…. but with this, we are bringing our focus back to the positive, our real lives, our actual triumphs that deserve mentioning and being proud of.


Write a blog, why not link up and toot your horn. Don’t write a blog? Why not, just for one week, write down some achievements as you do them – big or small – then at the end of the week relish in the glory of all you have done!

So lets review! What have I achieved this week….

The usual weekly triumphs…

  • Wrote 3 blog posts and caught up with all my blog reading

  • Meal planned for the week

  • Food prepped for the week

  • Made breakfast, lunch and dinner for David and I all week

  • Went to the farmers market for our weekly fruit and veg and then the supermarket for all the other bits and bobs

  • Took out the recycling

  • Did the washing and ironing

  • 4 x CrossFit training sessions

And some new triumphs…!

  • Kept my plants topped up with water (aka alive) and even rescued our mint plant from evil caterpillars!


  • Set a timer throughout the day to mediate – stuck to this twice but twice is better than none at all – try to beat that this week!
  • Realised I cannot do everything – asked for help rather than getting overwhelmed.

  • Tried a new recipe – Cotter Casserole

  • Brewed and bottled our first batch of kombucha – started the brewing process for our second batch.


  • Remembered to photo all my eats for ‘What I ate Wednesday’ – always a task!
  • Took time out with David to go get some fro-yo, chill out and catch up on our day.

Frozen Yoghurt Perth

  • Researched WordPress themes, widgets and plugins. Watched videos and took notes. Also learned a little more about SEO – blogging isn’t easy!
  • Looked into running a business in Australia – await to see if I can actually do that on my visa!

  • Applied for a tax file number.

  • Skyped my parents.

  • Watched 4 movies! A triumph for David and I – we usually get half way through and fall asleep!

  • Took time out to do 2 yoga sessions, stretching and foam rolling.

  • Finished my book – The Blue Zones by Dan Buettner – absolutely loved it! One of the best books I have ever read – I wish I could send a copy to everyone, it’s that good! Everyone could learn so much!

And once again, from writing this out, I have completely surprised myself on how much I have actually achieved this week. Go me!

Folks, there will be no ‘5 Top Tips on a Tuesday’ tomorrow as I am hoping to work on some developments on my site! This may also explain if things look a little different from tomorrow onwards! Wish me luck!

    Brewing your own kombucha?? Wow you go girl- that is awesome! I’m yet to try it myself! More than movies, I’ve really been into tv shows lately. That being said I did get a chance to go to the cinema last night after ages to see Burnt! I definitely recommend it and hey, Bradley Cooper is certainly nice on the eyes ;)!

      You should definitely try brewing your own kombucha! Its really easy and I’m kind of kicking myself that I didn’t start sooner!
      Thanks for the tip on Burnt – I was contemplating going to see that one but couldn’t work out whether or not it was any good from the trailers… well apart from the obvious ‘It has Bradley Cooper in it’! Haha!

    Wow so many exciting things!! Your “usual” things are awesome enough, but then setting add your timer to meditate (so impressed and would love to get myself to to this), taking time for yoga, making your first kombucha!! (so excited for you!! you’ll fall in love with your scoby babies I promise you… I have about 7 growing in my jar right now), to researching the blog world… ugh… don’t even get my started (you’ll see what I was up to this week..). Well done lady. A week well conquered!

      Haha I know what you mean about falling in love with your scobys – I already feel attached! One of the first things we did was name them – Bruce and Pricilla!

    You were an animal, and this is absolutely why I adore this link up. Yesterday afternoon, when I was relaxing for a few minutes because I was exhausted from all the go, go, go of the week, I was feeling a little morose for the things I didn’t manage to accomplish. Then I started typing my post and realized, wow, I did a shitton. It’s so simple to focus on what’s missing that I love the opportunity to redirect on all we did do and pat ourselves on the back at the same time.

    Blogging is tough, tough work, and while I may not be the expert, I’m happy to help in any way I can.

    Will you come meal prep and cook for the Hubby and I too? We’ll make plenty of room for you and maybe Oscar will take care of your caterpillar problem. 🙂

    Thanks for the reminder. I need to get back on the meditation train.

      I think this link up just shows how much we DONT give ourselves credit for!
      Thank you for the offer of help… hopefully everything will make sense – I kept putting it off, doing more and more research and then realised if I don’t do it now I never will! Sometimes you can never know enough – most we learn from actually doing!
      I love cooking and meal prepping so anytime you need me over I will be there! As long as I get paid in Oscar cuddles and granola!

    Maybe we should exchange notes. I am in the same process as you know and it totally overwhelmes me. I guess I have to make one step at a time but it’s just so much knowledge you have to ‘digest’ first 😉
    Again it looks like a pretty impressive week! I am with you on the movies. It almost never happens!

      I almost feel like I will never know enough when it comes to changing and updating themes etc but I am just going to bite the bullet and see how it goes! It may not be perfect (heck knowing me it will never be as I am such a perfectionist!) but that’s ok! You tube videos really helped me out – I found websitesmadeeasy.tv to be the best source with nice short videos!

    wow what a great, jam-packed week! this makes me realize that i should include a bit more details, lol 😀
    i love setting timers for myself to do certain activities – i set it for my core work, 10 min, for my morning writing, 15 min, and for dog walks, 30-60 minutes… yes i love timers 🙂
    and i love the Blue Zones!!!! i follow Kathy Freston, his girlfriend, and discovered Dan and his awesomeness. yes, that is seriously a mind blowing book. trying to get my hubby to read it would blow m y mind even further 😀

      I think I pretty much retold the whole Blue Zone story to my husband as I was reading it! Every page I kept going ‘oh wow that makes so much sense’! I love the fact that it made me rethink a lot of what I do and why I do it – especially in relation to what makes me happy and relieving stress. Talk about motivation! 🙂

      You should try writing everything you do in a week down on a list – I think you will be surprised by how much you do!
      We haven’t flavoured any of our kombuchas yet – just love the taste of it on its own! But hope to try soon. And YES I am saving so much money!
